1st Annual Fall Native Plant Sale

Wild Ones Ozark Chapter held their first annual Fall Native Plant Sale on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the GoatLab Brewery in Lowell, Arkansas.  Fall is a great time to plant native plants because the plants get extra time to establish strong roots to help them get through next summer.

Five native plant vendors joined us from around the area: Bluestem Hollow Nursery (Lincoln), Buckthorn’s Native Nursery (Sherwood), Moonlit Heights Native Nursery (Huntsville), Ozark Roots Native Plants (Rogers), and Ozark Soul Native Plants (Thornfield, MO). These vendors offered a wide variety of locally grown native plants, shrubs, and trees for multiple landscape types, providing new and seasoned native plant gardeners some diversity for their gardens. Our plant sale served over 200 native plant enthusiasts, aligning to the Wild Ones vision: “Native plants and natural landscapes thriving in every community.”

All the vendors expressed interest in returning next year, so keep your eyes peeled next Fall for the sale date! If you missed out, come see us at our annual Seed Swap on November 16 at the Bentonville Public Library. You can pick up some seeds of your favorite native plant/s and learn to grow your own! Sowing your own seed is a great, less expensive way to expand your native garden. If you need help knowing what to do with your seed when you get it home, ask one of the board members and we will be glad to help you out!
